AMA Scaffolding was appointed to provide a fully designed temporary roof for a residential refurbishment project in North Weald. The property was located approximately ten minutes from our yard, allowing our team to respond quickly and remain closely involved throughout the work.
The temporary roof was required to protect the property while extensive refurbishment work was completed. With parts of the building exposed during the project, the homeowner needed a reliable weatherproof covering that would allow the development team to continue working without unnecessary disruption.
Working Directly With the Homeowner and Development Company
The homeowner contacted AMA Scaffolding directly and remained our main client throughout the project. Once the refurbishment work had been allocated, we worked closely with the appointed development company to coordinate the scaffolding and temporary roof requirements.
Clear communication between the homeowner, developer and our scaffolding team helped the project progress smoothly. We discussed access requirements, the planned programme of work and how the temporary roof would need to support the different stages of the refurbishment.

A Fully Designed Temporary Roof System

Free Weekly Scaffold Inspections
As part of the service, AMA Scaffolding agreed to carry out weekly scaffold inspections free of charge.
The homeowner was a local resident and the site was only around ten minutes from our yard, making it practical for our team to attend regularly throughout the project. These inspections helped confirm that the scaffold and temporary roof remained in a suitable condition while the refurbishment progressed.
Regular inspections are especially important on projects where scaffolding remains in place for an extended period or where it may be affected by ongoing construction activity and changing weather conditions.
The Result
The fully designed temporary roof provided the protection needed for the refurbishment work to continue over the planned 16-week period. The development company had suitable access to complete the work, while the homeowner benefited from regular communication, responsive local support and free weekly scaffold inspections.
